EYEBROW TATTOO
EYEBROW TATTOOING
Initial session: $380.00

Hey there! So you’re interested in getting your brows tattooed? Brows really are such an important part of the face. Not only do they give the face structure, they can create a more lifted appearance and open up the eyes. I always hear the same stories, “I over plucked my brows when I was younger” or “they were waxed off and never grew back”. We’ve all been there and hopefully have learned from our mistakes! So why settle with that bad mistake you made years ago when everyone can benefit from a good set of brows.

I’m so happy you’ve decided to move forward and get your brows done by me! This is very exciting and possibly a little nerve racking for you, I get that. I’m here to talk you through the entire process and make sure we are on the same page before tattooing.

How to prepare

Preparing for your brow procedure is very important. Not only does it play a huge role in how you heal and retain color, it also will determine how comfortable you will be during the procedure as well as how long your appointment will take.

Discontinue blood thinners. You will want to refrain from any blood thinning supplements you may be taking for 1 week prior to, as well as, the day of your appointment. (this includes but not limited to: NSAIDS, ibuprofen, aspirin, motrin, fish oil, turmeric, etc.)
In regards to blood thinning prescription medications, please be prepared to seek medical advice from your physician.

No alcohol minimum 48 hours prior to your appointment.

Limit sun exposure preferably 1 week before your appointment.

Not advised to consume caffeine before your procedure.

Don’t use retinol products or target skin treatments on or around the brow area minimum 1 week prior to appointment. Simply keep the skin clean and hydrated. More aggressive treatments (i.e. lasers, chemical peels, microdermabrasion) should be avoided 4 weeks prior. Skin healing time is required before tattooing.

Avoid botox and/or fillers on or around the brow area minimum 3 weeks before your scheduled appointment.

SPECIFIC FOR BROWS

Very gently exfoliate the brows 3 days before procedure and keep them hydrated and clean for the remainder of time leading up to procedure.

Wax, thread or tweeze brows at least 3 days before your procedure only if needed. Or leave them alone, let them grow, and we will clean them up the day of the procedure to blend in with your brow tattoo.

If you have any questions pertaining to any of the information above as well as any additional questions, please contact me in regards to scheduling a personal consultation.

Consultation

Unless we had a personal consultation prior to booking your appointment, we will go more in depth about the style of brow you are looking for. This is where your photos/reference brows are very helpful. I will also take “before” photos of your brows before we begin.
*I do require you to consult with me first if you want me to tattoo your brows exactly how you draw them yourself, with no adjustments.

Brow Mapping

Once we have discussed the design of your brows, I will get the skin cleaned and prepped for brow mapping. This is a technique I use to create a brow design that is most symmetrical for your face. All that is required of you is to lay back and relax until I am ready to reveal, and together we will make any necessary adjustments. This is the longest part of the whole process. Once we have a design we love, I will take an “approval” picture to document you are ready to move forward with this design.

Tattoo Time!

Before we begin tattooing, we will select a color for your brows. There is a color theory behind cosmetic tattooing so in order for clients not to be overwhelmed, I do tend to work on the lighter side unless stated otherwise. Lets make those brows permanent! During the tattooing process, I do multiple passes/layers on each brow. Typically, the first pass is to secure the design and the rest of the passes are to build up color. Anesthetic is used to keep you comfortable throughout the procedure. The actual tattooing process takes about 1-1/2 hours.

Aftercare

When we are all done the tattoo process, I will let you see the final results! We will take your “after” photos and then discuss your aftercare(listed below). When you checkout, I will give you your aftercare products to take home and use.

Aftercare is rather simple so try not to overthink, however don’t forget it is open skin. Keeping products and bacteria away from the open area of the skin will help reduce the risk of irritation or possible infection. Follow the simple aftercare rules below and you will be fine.

CLEANSE BROWS 2-3X A DAY.
Cleanse brows (morning/noon/night) with provided or recommended aftercare cleanser. Use a clean cotton round and dampen the cotton round with cleanser. Do a of couple gentle swipes over the brows using a back and forth motion. Let the skin air dry, do not rinse off. Aftercare balm may be recommend to use after cleaning brows.

If aftercare balm is recommended to use while healing, this will be provided at your appointment and explained how to use for you personally.

BLOT BROWS FREQUENTLY.
With a clean tissue, blot the brows frequently throughout the day. This is to ensure lymphatic fluid will not sit on top of the tattoo. If lymphatic fluid has time to harden and crust over the tattoo, it will pull out a lot of pigment and look very “scab-like”. During your healing process, the skin should never look “scab-like”. The latter end of the healing should only resemble a light flaky layer of skin.

If looking “scab-like”, cleanse the brows well and continue to blot frequently to avoid that happening again.

KEEP BROWS DRY.
It is important to keep the brows dry as much as possible (other than when cleansing). Excessive contact with water will dilute the pigment retention in the skin. When showering/bathing, be sure to keep the brows out of direct streaming water as this may remove unhealed skin prematurely. Use a “hand cupping” motion to protect the brows and simply wash hair and body in the shower. Keep a clean towel close by in order to pat brows dry if water gets on them.

Wash your face at the sink for more control. Use a damp washcloth to wet the skin around the brows and remove facial cleanser around the brows. (It is recommended to use a gentle facial cleanser on the skin the period of time your brows are healing to avoid skin irritation.) Cleanse the brows after cleaning your face.

KEEP BROWS CLEAN.
Keep makeup and other topical products (that are NOT the recommended aftercare) off and away from the brows for the whole time your skin is healing. (This includes facial moisturizers, retinol, etc.)

NO EXERCISING.
On the day of your procedure as well as the week while you are healing, it is not advised to be active. This could result in loss of pigment retention in the skin.

DO NOT PICK!
Touching your brows (other than for cleansing) is not advised. Only ever touch the healing brows with clean hands.

When sleeping, do not lay on your brows. Sheets/pillow may pull unhealed skin prematurely causing pigment loss.

*The only thing that should touch your brows the week while healing is the specified aftercare. Anything else may result in poor pigment retention in which additional sessions may be needed. This will be at an additional cost.

YOU WILL ALSO CONTINUE TO FOLLOW THE “HOW TO PREPARE” INSTRUCTIONS WHILE YOU ARE HEALING

Infection:

Infections are rare but always possible. Signs of infection include: fever, prolonged or severe pain, redness, and swelling in the immediate area, along with a warm/radiating heat sensation; sores that contain or release thick white or yellow fluid, hard red raised bumps or wounds, nausea, vomiting. If you think you have an infection seek medical attention immediately!

Healing

Healing, on average, takes clients anywhere between 7-10 days. While healing will be different for every client, everyone can pretty much expect the following to happen:
Days 2-4 : Dark and bold
Days 4-7 : light and flaky. May even feel like you’re losing a lot of color

What medical conditions require a medical clearance from any permanent makeup procedure?

To ensure your safety I require a Doctors release form if you have any of the following:

– Heart valves, stents, pacemakers, rheumatic fever
– Organ transplants
– Joint replacements
– Insulin dependent diabetics
– Fever blister history (pre-medication for lips procedure)
– Shingles
